Adele’s surgery results in cancellation of shows

After a busy year with the success of her second studio album “21”, including two number one singles, and numerous sold out shows across the country, Adele’s vocal chords have been suffering.
In October, Adele suffered with a vocal chord hemorrhage and had no choice but to cancel her North American tour. According to, Adele underwent laser throat micro surgery in November to stop the recurring hemorrhaging from harming her vocal cords, and the operation went smoothly. Adele has yet to announce when she will return to the stage.

Also according to Rolling Stone, Adele’s doctors have advised her that she will need an extended period of rest in order to fully recuperate, and refunds will be issued at the point of purchase for all dates of her canceled tour.

“I’m disappointed that Adele has to take a break from singing because from the songs I’ve heard, she has an amazing voice,” said senior, Anthony Salati.

According to, Adele wrote, “Thank you for all your positive thoughts and get well wishes. I’m doing really well, on the mend, super happy, relaxed and very positive with it all. The operation was a success and I’m just chilling out now until I get all clear from my doctors. Thank you to everyone who voted for the awards I’ve won recently as well. Hugely appreciated.”

Once Adele’s voice is fully restored, expect to see her making more music and making up for her missed performances.
