Ghostly Figure

by Evan Rodriguez, staff writer

We all have that dark figure
that wonders and ponders our thoughts

The ghostly passenger that whispers in our ears
to go faster pushing us
forcing us
falling over the edge,
falling over the edge

These ghostly figures haunt the halls
of our mind and intertwined thoughts of delusion.
These figures surround us, peer into us with blackened eyes
telling us what is wrong is really right.

It’s like
falling over the edge,
falling over the edge

These figures made up of continuous strains
and constant pain force us to resolve them
but it dulls them
and only makes them stronger
so we start
falling over the edge,
falling over the edge

Its like we try to find ourselves for a while
accepting the darkness
somewhere over the edge

We find ourselves again and again
pushed over the edge
over the edge

Falling over again,
falling over the edge

Falling over the edge
